Paintings
Beginning with the abstract landscapes of 2023, Inchbold’s work moved into a renewed engagement with figuration across 2024 and 2025, before turning again toward abstraction in late 2025 and continuing through 2026 and beyond. Rather than marking a clean progression from one mode to another, these shifts describe a continual movement between the recognisable and the unresolved, with each successive body of work testing the limits of the one before it. Together, these paintings constitute four solo exhibitions: the trilogy at Stella Downer Fine Art, Brand New People (2024), Wisteria Lemonade (2025), and Shedding Velvet (2026), followed by the major solo presentation Mango Flesh Identikit at Hazelhurst Art Centre in July 2026.
